1. Our Privacy Philosophy
Privane Browser Intelligence was founded on a simple, uncompromising principle: your private data belongs to you. Unlike traditional AI tools that process your prompts and browsing history on external cloud servers, Privane runs a fully local AI model (Gemma 2B) directly in your browser using your computer's GPU via WebGPU.
This means your prompts, browsing timeline, journal entries, memory vaults, and workspace research never leave your computer.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Because Privane operates entirely on-device, we have zero access to, and do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- AI Conversations: The contents of your chats, prompts, queries, and AI responses.
- Browsing Data: Your open tabs, visited URLs, bookmarks, or browser history.
- Daily Journals: The automatic timeline and AI-generated daily summaries of your activity.
- Memory Vault & Workspaces: Your stored facts, customized project workspaces, and research files.
- Webpage Text: Text selected or processed via the Floating Action Bar on external websites.
3. Information We Collect (And Why)
We only collect the minimal information necessary to process your purchase, generate license keys, and validate subscription statuses:
- Payment Information: When you purchase a Privane Pro license, payments are processed securely through our payment provider, Razorpay. We do not store or see your credit card number, CVV, or banking details. Razorpay processes and encrypts all transaction data.
- Customer Contact Information: We collect your email address during checkout. This is used solely to email you your license key, send payment receipts, and notify you of subscription updates.
- License Activation & Device Validation: When you enter a license key into the Privane extension, the extension makes an API call to our license server (
https://privanebrowserintelligence.com/api/validate-license). We log the hashed license key and your Chrome profile identifier to verify active subscriptions and enforce our limit of 3 synchronized profiles/devices per key.
4. On-Device Storage
All application data, including your chat history, journal indexes, and configurations, is stored locally on your machine using standard browser storage engines (Chrome extension storage and local SQLite databases). This data is completely private to your Chrome user profile and is not readable by external websites or other extensions.
5. Service Providers
We share minimal data with trusted third-party providers only to facilitate transactions and deliver license information:
- Razorpay: To process checkouts, subscriptions, and issue automatic refunds.
- Resend: To deliver transactional emails, including your license key and invoice details.
These providers are strictly bound by confidentiality and security requirements and are prohibited from using your information for any marketing or other purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and electronic security measures to protect your email address and license keys from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, since all AI processing and personal database logs are kept strictly on your local disk, the ultimate security of your conversational data depends on the security of your physical machine and browser user profile.
7. Children's Privacy
Privane is not designed or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our extension design or service regulations. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
