1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website (privanebrowserintelligence.com) or downloading and using the Privane Chrome Extension (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue using our Service.
2. License Grant & Usage
Privane Browser Intelligence grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and run the Privane extension inside Google Chrome.
- Free Tier: You are granted access to basic local AI chat, text summarization, and page analysis for personal or commercial use, free of charge.
- Pro Tier License: Upon purchase, you are granted a license key to unlock premium features (including Agent Mode, Memory Vault, Workspaces, Daily Journal, and the Floating Action Bar). Each license key is licensed for use by a single individual and may be synchronized on up to three (3) Chrome profiles/devices owned by that same individual. Sharing your license key with other users is strictly prohibited.
- Restrictions: You may not reverse-engineer, modify, redistribute, rent, lease, resell, or exploit any proprietary parts of the Privane code or intellectual property without explicit written authorization.
3. Local Operation & System Requirements
Privane processes AI models entirely on-device using WebGPU.
- Hardware Requirements: The quality, speed, and responsiveness of the AI chat depend entirely on your computer's local hardware (specifically your graphics card or GPU). We do not guarantee AI model performance on systems that do not meet Chrome's WebGPU specifications.
- Internet Access: Internet access is required once to download the local AI model weights (~1.6GB) and to validate your license key. After the model is downloaded and validated, the extension can operate fully offline.
4. Pricing, Subscriptions & Renewals
By purchasing the Pro Tier, you agree to our pricing terms:
- Launch Offer Pricing: Our promotional launch rate is $39/year (discounted from our standard annual rate of $99/year) for the first 5,000 users. Annual subscriptions will auto-renew at the price specified at purchase unless cancelled prior to renewal.
- Billing: Payments are billed securely in advance via Razorpay. You must provide valid, active billing details.
- 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee: If you are not completely satisfied with Privane Pro, you can request a full refund within thirty (30) days of your initial purchase. Upon processing your refund, your license key will be permanently deactivated, and Pro features will be locked.
5. Intellectual Property
All branding, logos, assets, code structure, site designs, and promotional materials of Privane are the sole intellectual property of Privane Browser Intelligence. The underlying local AI model weights (Gemma 2B) are distributed under Google's Gemma Terms of Use.
6. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service or the local AI capabilities to:
- Generate or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, harmful, fraudulent, or violates the rights of third parties.
- Attempt to circumvent any license validation checks, bypass security blocks, or distribute fake license keys.
- Deploy automated bots, spiders, or scripts to abuse the license server APIs.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. SINCE AI RESPONSES ARE PROCESSED ON-DEVICE, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CORRECTNESS, SAFETY, OR TRUTHFULNESS OF ANY AI-GENERATED OUTPUT.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PRIVANE BROWSER INTELLIGENCE OR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO US FOR THE PRO SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction of our headquarters, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in our home jurisdiction.
